NewColor separation for Affinity

Print-ready layers in seconds

VTone turns any design, AI images included, into print-ready ink layers inside Affinity. Less time separating means more designs finished and more to sell.

  • Works with free Affinity 3
  • Offline after activation
  • macOS 11+ · Windows soon

Which designer are you?

Color separation is where the hours go. Every hour you get back is another design you can sell.

Dozens of hours on one designSplitting channels by hand, redoing the underbase, sending files back and forth with the printer.
Dozens of designs in one daySeparating in seconds with VTone, then spending the day on the next design and the next sale.

From design to print-ready layers in three steps

If you can pick a shirt color, you can separate a design.

  1. Install once

Install DYNEVERSE, then paste the VTone script into Affinity. You only do this once.

  2. Pick your design

Select the image layer, run VTone, and choose the shirt color, print width and number of inks.

  3. Send it to print

Each ink lands in Affinity as its own layer, in print order. Export and send it to your print shop.

Two print methods. One window.

Choose how the shirt gets printed. VTone does the separating, and your printer gets layers ready to burn.

Questions before you buy

I'm not a print expert. Is it hard?

No. Pick the shirt color and how many colors, then click Separate. VTone sets the rest, and you can still change LPI and angle when your printer asks.

Do I need Photoshop or a subscription?

No. VTone runs inside Affinity, which is free. You pay for VTone once and it's yours.

Does it work with AI-generated images?

Yes. VTone is tuned for them: it cleans up the speckle noise AI images often have and smooths line art before separating, so your printer gets clean dots and edges.

Can my print shop use the files?

Yes. Every ink is a separate halftone layer in Affinity, named with its closest Pantone. Export in the format your printer asks for, such as PSD, TIFF or PDF.

Does it work on Windows?

Windows support is in progress. Your purchase code will work there too when it ships, and one code covers 2 computers, Mac or Windows.

macOS says the app can't be opened.

This happens the first time because VTone comes from an independent studio, not the App Store. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, click Open Anyway, then open the installer again. You only do this once.

Can I move my license to a new computer?

Yes. On the old one click “Deactivate this computer” in the VTone license window, then activate on the new one. Old computer lost or broken? Manage your computers with your code and purchase email.

Will there be more tools?

Yes. DYNEVERSE is a growing home for affordable Affinity tools. Each one is sold separately and installs into the same app.

Your download has started. It takes about two minutes.

  1. Open DYNEVERSE-Trial-Setup.pkg from your Downloads folder.

This shows up because VTone comes from an independent studio, not the App Store. You only do it once.

Your computers

Free a computer you can't use anymore, then activate VTone on the new one.
